EVOLVE is back in action this weekend in New York! These events will have major ramifications as the follow up to the EVOLVE Tag Team Tournament and the lead in to the WWNLive Experience in Dallas. We have the latest, a big title match signed for the Supershow and more. Let’s get to it….
March 15th: We need to start off by giving you a big THANK YOU! This Saturday’s EVOLVE 56 event in Queens, NY will be the largest attendance for EVOLVE in Queens. Then EVOLVE 58 will set the all-time EVOLVE attendance record! However, the record won’t stand long as it looks like EVOLVE 59 will break the EVOLVE 58 record and become the first EVOLVE show with over 1000 fans! You make it happen! March 15th: There is a lot of speculation as to what role William Regal will play on this weekend’s EVOLVE events. It could change the direction of EVOLVE. Regal will be available in both Queens and Brooklyn for a meet & greet before the events. It is only $20 for a picture and an autograph. March 15th: The FIP Title will be on the line at the WWN Supershow: Mercury Rising 2016! It will be a Fatal Four Way with FIP World Heavyweight Champion Caleb Konley vs. Maxwell Chicago vs. Gary Jay vs. Jason Cade. March 15th: There are a few things flying under the radar for this weekend’s EVOLVE cards that we want to call some attention to:
-“Speedball” Mike Bailey makes his return to EVOLVE this weekend for the first time in months. It’s Bailey vs. Ethan Page this Saturday and Bailey vs. TJ Perkins this Sunday. Bailey needs wins to maintain his spot on the super competitive EVOLVE roster. The match vs. TJ Perkins is a rematch from EVOLVE 43, which saw Bailey lose to a controversial pinfall. Now Bailey has a chance to even the score.
Matt Riddle Is Undefeated In EVOLVE. He Says EVOLVE Is A Stepping Stone, But He First Must Defeat Timothy Thatcher To Win The EVOLVE Title This Saturday. If He Does, He Will Immediately Defend It Vs. Chris Hero On Sunday. Can The Former UFC Fighter Make It To Dallas As EVOLVE Champion?
-Tracy Williams is set for the biggest weekend of his EVOLVE career when it comes to singles matches. It’s Williams vs. Chris Hero this Saturday and Williams vs. Sami Callihan this Sunday. Both matches have issues behind them. Watch the new 365 Days: Chris Hero video for the backstory there. Williams left Callihan laying at the last EVOLVE card after Callihan booted Timothy Thatcher. Williams made it to the finals of Style Battle, but is due for that breakout win. Will it come this weekend?
-Fred Yehi is set for his first weekend as a WWN contracted wrestler. This puts high expectations on the talented upcomer. His skills will be tested to the fullest against Drew Gulak in Queens and Ethan Page in Brooklyn.
-Speaking of Ethan Page, he is following up an odd weekend in January. His attempts to do the right thing backfired on him, resulting in three losses. He must rebound this weekend while he continues to try to earn the forgiveness of Johnny Gargano.
-Team Tremendous will be the backbone of the tag team wrestling scene this weekend, as they are the only team slated for tag action on both shows. They need to win the EVOLVE Tag Team Titles this Sunday in Brooklyn against Johnny Gargano & Drew Galloway to make it to Dallas.
Those are five under-the-radar items to keep an eye on this weekend. We’ll have more previews as the week progresses.
