Matt Riddle meets with Triple H, AJ Styles finishing move, Shinsuke Nakamura news

AJ

There were discussions in WWE about AJ Styles being allowed to continue using the Styles Clash as his finisher.  Vince McMahon wanting to be cautious about it after finding out about Yoshitatsu’s broken neck due to taking the move incorrectly.  AJ’s finisher is amazing and Vince would be a idiot to stop using it. Accidents happened all the time in the ring. A Slip up will occur, someone will take a move wrong, but that’s the wrestling world.

Styles did end up using the Clash to defeat Curtis Axel, but the decision to use the Calf Crusher going forward was made after that. Chris Jericho reportedly wanted the Clash included in their PPV match. Since the move made it into the match without issue it’s believed the Clash is okayedto be used again, but the Calf Killer is expected to continue to be Styles’ finisher.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is saying there is no doubt Shinsuke Nakamura will headline live events on WWE’s upcoming tour of Japan.

WWE recently announced they will return to Japan for a set of dates at Ryogoku Kokugikan / Sumo Hall on July 1st and 2nd. Nakamura is expected to have a lengthyrun in NXT this year, and the Observer noted it’s assumed a number of WWE talents would line up to face him at these shows and put him over.  I’m a big fan of Nakamura’s work. Great move by WWE.  Hope they don’t screw this up.
