This week’s Smackdown had a Charlotte vs. Naomi singles match that got turned into a Charlotte and Becky Lynch vs. Naomi and Sasha Banks tag match. They were supposed to go long, but because of a unplanned finish, that didn’t happen.
Charlotte and Naomi did a series of roll-ups, which ended in Naomi pinning Charlotte. After the pin, Charlotte looked shocked, and Naomi, looked confused. According to Dave Meltzer on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, the match was supposed to go an entire extra segment. It’s unknown at the time who was supposed to win the match, but Naomi rolling up Charlotte out of nowhere wasn’t the planned finish.
Everyone makes mistakes. It’s hard not to make a mistake in a wrestling match. You are out there in front of a live crowd and have to give your best performance every night. It’s very nerve wracking and that can lead to a mistake or two. I think Charlotte is an amazing worker and hopefully don’t get heat for this.
