PWInsider.com is reporting WWE released The Brooklyn Brawler, Steve Lombardi, last week.
Lombardi had been with the company for more than 30 years, but was reportedly released quietly from his contract last week. WWE has not publicly reported this until now.
Steve put a lot of years into WWE. He was always the jobber, but played a big role in WWE. When people think of The Brooklyn Brawler, they think of a scrub, a jobber. Some people don’t even take him seriously. What people don’t realize is that he worked his ass off. He was a great worker and put over every top name in the world. WWE used Steve to see if the younger talent had it or not. If Steve felt like you didn’t have it, he would tell management that. He’s been a major player in WWE and deserves respect. Hopefully a WWE Hall of Fame comes his way soon for all the contributions he brought to WWE.
